My Big Sister Willow Helps Me Celebrate
Guess what? I turned eleven today! Pretty cool right? I love getting older because life sure gets less complicated. No more unnecessary training classes or doing neat tricks for treats.

I know my routine. I like my routine. My pawrents know my routine too and if my food isn't in my bowl promptly at 7:00 am, all I have to do is sigh ever so softly or gingerly paw their face to wake them up. They both spring into action, as if the world was on fire, to prepare my breakfast.
When I was a little baby doggy it took a lot more nudging and puppy-dog-eyes to get my point across so I'm guessing being a senior dog comes with a few perks and you better believe I'm cashing in. Responsibly, of course. 😉

"Birthdays are the best days and should make you feel special," every year my mom sings this cutesy song to me. She likes to make a big deal about my special day, which is fine by me, because it's nice to feel loved. From getting delicious treats, your favorite chew toy to running around the park for hours celebrating with your furiends, birthdays are full of amazing memories.
But not all of them can be winners, am I right? It's only fair that I bring up the fact there are some birthdays we would like to, well, forget. I don't make it a habit to keep track of all my "bad b-days" as I like to refer to them because who really wants to remember the time they were sick all day or caught fleas so bad that your dad had to pick them off of you one by one. True story and what a bummer it happened on a day that was suppose to be magical.
An Unexpected Sweet Surprise
Thankfully, I have only had a couple of birthdays I shall not remember and a lot more happy and exciting experiences. And this year was no different, ranking high among my top five birthdays. Let me be the first to tell you guys, my sister Willow can bake her booty off!

Now, I knew she was a talented jumper, but had no clue about her mad baking kills. She baked me the most scrumptious batch of Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits (recipe below). Now, of course, my pawrents can always run out to the store and grab my favorite Turkey Meatball dog treats, but there's just something so amazing and thoughtful about someone you love cooking with you in mind. Delicious Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits Recipe
There are hundreds of recipes out there for baking homemade dog treats, but Willow must have remembered how much I LOVE peanut butter and watching Rosanna Pansino's Nerdy Nummies baking videos and recipes.
Here's what you'll need:
- Doggy or bone-shaped cookie cutters, like these or these
- 2½ cups flour
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup water
- 1 egg
If your pup is on a diet (yes, being senior pups Willow and I have to watch our figures) try cutting the recipe in half so only use 1¼ cup of flour, ½ cup of peanut butter, half an egg, etc. The recipe will still yield over a dozen cookies, so don't worry about your pup not having enough. 😉
Now, on to making the biscuit dog treats!
- Preheat oven to 350°F and set aside a baking sheet.
- Combine flour, egg and baking powder in a large mixing bowl.
- Next, add water, peanut butter and honey. Mix everything well.
- Roll out dough to ½” thickness on a lightly floured surface.
- Cut out biscuits with cookie cutter.
- Using a fork, poke holes in center of biscuit for extra detail.
- Place on baking sheet and bake until firm, for about 18 minutes.

After scarfing down most of the treats, my mom showed me this video of Willow making them. Not sure how she didn't eat them all at once. I guess this means Willow really does love me. 😍
This was definitely one of the most awesomest birthdays ever thanks to my sister Willow.
Ooooh time ton finish these treats... Dilla out!
